ATI will announce R580 on 24th Jan, 2006, and the official name will be Radeon X1900 series. HKEPC tried to find a real thing for our readers. From the photi, we discovered the die size of R580 increased a lot. If it is build on 90nm process, then the estimated transistor count will be more than 350Mil.
ATI still didn't tell IHVs for the correct R580 specifications. We only know it will be 3 versions. High-end will be Radeon X1900XTX, instead of PE, core will be 650MHz, RAM will be 1550MHz. Radeon X1900XT will be 625MHz and 1450MHz. The CrossFire version will be announced in the same day, and it will be running at 625MHz and 1450MHz. ATI also mentioned that X1900XTX require at least 450W PSU, 30A on 12V rails. If you want Crossfire X1900, then you need at least 550W PSU, and 38A on 12V rails.
