Does anyone know which Talk Home card I should buy in England? There`s a lot of them and Vodafone UK doesn`t offer a native solution for cheap Abroad calls. Urgent!

U can buy many different cheap international calling cards, most offer the same or very similar rates.
"Eurocity", "Eurocall" (both dark blue) are equally decent choices.
Or u can be cheap and use 50 HUF coins in BT public phones, they used to work a few years ago (someone told me but I never actually tried). None of the mobile service providers offer cheap international calls, they are all blood(majnemmastirtamide)suckers.

Nah, not being cheap, but nice trick anyways. :) Actually, I just bought meself a fancy new blue U600 for 145 pounds(20 pounds on it, Pay As You Go@Vodafone) at Phones4You. I was looking through these cards and some are really weird. Like this one. So I guess not all are the same. :) Found an Eastern Europe one, might just work. And yes, O2  does have a cheap International package, but I got carried away as O2 was closed and bought it at Phones4You... Will buy a card and borrow some laptop, it has to do.

BTW, these Chip and Pin cards are just awful. A lot of places dont take normal MasterCard if it doesnt have a chip on it... :omg:  Pretty darn annoying sometimes. Thx for the advice anyway.

I just heard a pretty cool one-liner: "Be there or be rectangular." (like be there or be square) :)

Could you describe what you wanted to say with the first two sentences? It seems my English is limited, or the problem is somewhere else...
As far as the low popularity of this topic goes lately, I think it's either the holidays preparations or the usual heavy work/study load at the end of the year. As for me, it's the work load. But what am I doing here then? :D

No friggin idea what he just said. Maybe by roaming u meant coming to this topic?   :Đ

Anyways, for me, it's the work. And now, the holidays, too. :)

Nevertheless, I've picked up quite a few new slangish phrases in England so far.

Like, Cheers. You can use "Cheers" basically for every purpose. When saying "Hello", "Good Bye", for saying "Thank you", "Sorry", "No problem", even when drinking and bumping your glasses into each other, you can use "Cheers" instead. It's marvelously universal!  :)

Another thing is that people say "and you" instead of "you too".
Say,
"Have a nice day."
"And you."

And what I've also never heard of before, is saying "five-ish".
You can use reddish and such, everyone knows that. But "I'll be there around five-ish"(any number here) is pretty funny the first time you hear it. :)
Also for time, I never thought that in manner-y England they would use something like "half six" instead of half past six, but that is the case with most people.

It would be cool if every one of you guys who have heard such things in use could tell about it, would like to hear it myself.  :)

I hardly use English nowadays so there's a small chance of something new from me. On the other hand, I knew the ones you wrote and that points at a problem: how do I know if you'd like to hear about a phrase I assume normal and everyday? What about using "no problem" instead of "you're welcome", reacting to a "thanks"? I see many using this (in a helpful MMO environment) and I use it too but I don't know if it's a local game slang or commonly used feature of English.

Off-topic, me? Huh, pretty serious accusation. I'm using English, so I can't be off. :p

Isn't it impolite to ask why you've been far for such a long time? For example, we missed you at the Sziget-parties. ;)

Now it seems I forced you to ask this. I swear I didn't. :)
I moved and the procurement of new internet connection was a pretty slow and hard progress. Also worked on a project where we were cut from the rest of the electronic world (I'm not allowed to tell you about that project but you surely know what happened today at 0am on the west and southwest borders). Even these days, on a different and more open project, my net usage is limited.
So, to put it short, I had no net at work and I had no net at work and no net at home. Now both are solved more or less, so beware, I'm back. :D

It's the art of well-communicated questions, you know. :Đ

I see, I understand. :) So it must have been a good challenge in your work, but it's never a problem, if you managed to solve the problems and enjoyed the whole process.

I think I understand you (not that this post was easier to read for me). You doubt there are a lot visitors in this topic and you ask how many of the forum-dwellers speak English. Being this an originally IT-based forum, I'd say more than sixty percent. But when the question is how many of them feel like coming in here and post (no matter if twice or regulary (Carmaged please correct my spelling)), this rate drops below ten percent I think. Or below five.

It's not a new place (well, geologically it is but it's the same company) but a new project and a new type of work, more of directing people than doing actual work producing software. Yes, I enjoy placing milestones and then moving them, allocating resources and doing their job while they are ill or on holidays...  :Đ
