Microsoft spokespersons have assured the community that there is no real difference between the 5308.60 (the new "Unstaged" version posted yesterday) and the 5308.17
The difference between a Staged and Unstaged version is that the Staged version makes full use of the new hard drive Image based technology included in Windows Vista Setup.
The Unstaged 5308.60 uses a version of the old technology present in Windows XP.
The main difference between the 5308.17 and the 5308.60 is that the new compile includes a new Beta build of Longhorn Server, not included in the 5308.17 released last week.
From some initial testing of the 5308.60 by the Area 59 Team, it would nevertheless appear that there have been some improvements to the 5308 since the version released last week. Windows appears to hang less frequently, some minor bug fixes appear to have been implemented, but especially, the OS appears to behave more smoothly and somewhat faster.
use the 5308.60 instead of the 5308.17 -- simply because it's a later compile, and clearly has some bug fixes
hmm..
ez szerintem marhaság

The only changes in the build "5308.60" are for server. For client it is exactly the same as "5308.17".
It has zero effect on client, but won't hurt anything if you use those ISO images to install client.
So unless you are testing server, you can just save your bandwidth.
Sam White (MS Vista Beta team)
