Road reopens after accident

The A420 at Headington Hill, Oxford, has reopened in both directions following an earlier collision.

A female cyclist in her early 30s was injured after she collided with a lorry at the junction with Morrell Avenue at about 3.30pm today.

The road was closed in both directions following the crash.


A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the woman is in a critical condition at the city's John Radcliffe Hospital.

I've seen this one, though not as it was happening but that it happened, I was passing at the place about 10 minutes later. I was quite sure that the person died - seeing how things looked like - but it seems she got to the hospital. Poor person got under the tyres of a truck.

I agree. He was really good in the Oscar, I think he's a good actor. By the way, I haven't seen that film in English, too... it has to be altered.

I haven't seen that film in English, either... this has to change. (but even like this it makes no sense in English I think. You could substitute what you wanted to say with smthn like "but i'll make up for it", or "but it's high time for me to see it" etc.

Yes they do it really quick and effective. Here they had about 4-5 police cars, 2 ambulance, 2 fire engines out in a few minutes...

I tried to say the same.

It's pretty strange, that nowadays I have to speak hours in English and after that when I try to speak Hungarian, always English expressions come into my mind.

I was just hearing Ronaldo `s interview after the uefa champions final Manchaster United - Chelsea match on ITV1 and even Ronaldo has made a little bit mistake he said `the bad day of my life` instead of the worst day of my life. But i adore him and hes an amazing player so thats not so big mistake and his english really really good and i mean it because this is not his first language. By the way the resolution was 1-1 and the MU won 6-5 on penalties.

Why do/would you assume that he speaks perfect English? It is not his mothertongue, it is obvious, that he makes mistakes.
But to tell you the truth the quoted sentence can be correct...

I dont think so because the reporter corrected his word and the reporter said you mean `the worst`.

I know if theres somebody and the english language is not his/her first (mother-) language he / she will make mistakes always. I know, if the english is not your first language, you will never learn that perfectly because it is impossible to speak your secondary language without mistakes. Sometimes i can hear Avram Grant, Ronaldo, Vidic, in the TV and after that I really mean it. But its ok and this is normal.
