I think I've heard it in movies or somewhere else. Maybe it doesn't exist in English spoken in England but perhaps it does in the US. I'm pretty sure I've heard or read it somewhere, I'm not making it up.

"makes me remember" simply does not exists in proper English, and that's a pretty big difference. It isn't everything that the word by word translation to Hungarian gives the same result.

That's interesting, because English books contain "make sy do sg" at the causative form section.

That's right, it's "mûveltetés", but the language has a special expression for (and instead of) "to make sy remember sg" and that's "to remind sy of sg". What's more, the two is not exactly the same. Think of seeing John who looks very similar to Peter. You can say John reminds you of Peter, while you can not say John makes you remember Peter if John doesn't want to convince you to do so.
The subjective has nothing to do with it, in my opinion.

I love his humor. He's very funny and says important things too, that makes you think. He isn't very known in Hungary but he is a big stand up comedy star in the US, and that's well deserved. If you listen to comedy stations with winamp, maybe you'll cath him.
