On the other hand, I knew the ones you wrote and that points at a problem: how do I know if you'd like to hear about a phrase I assume normal and everyday? What about using "no problem" instead of "you're welcome", reacting to a "thanks"?

That's small time, man.  :) Really everyone knows that. I'm talking about real no-net phrases here which are not that obvious.

You doubt there are a lot visitors in this topic and you ask how many of the forum-dwellers speak English. Being this an originally IT-based forum, I'd say more than sixty percent. But when the question is how many of them feel like coming in here and post (no matter if twice or regulary (Carmaged please correct my spelling)), this rate drops below ten percent I think. Or below five.

regularly :Đ And yeah, some peeps based in England(bepe, NMI?) and the US could really come and have a chat every now and then. Me, I'm just being lazy some of the time, some of it I actually am working.  :)

Which word? :) "Regularly" is the correct form, if you mean this one.

According to your topic: I guess, much less than five hundred people is the real regular "post generator" :).

It's not a new place (well, geologically it is but it's the same company) but a new project and a new type of work, more of directing people than doing actual work producing software. Yes, I enjoy placing milestones and then moving them, allocating resources and doing their job while they are ill or on holidays...  :Đ

Briefly: yes or no? :D I couldn't find it out... :omg: :D

I agree with you.

On a forum like this roughly this distribution can be observed. Now, that EU's borders opened, according to you this in how much to raise the Hungarians' English language knowledge?

If I may answer: not at all. Well, maybe, a little more people will go and work in England in praticular, then again, if you wanted to go and work abroad, 99% chance you did already, regardless of the need for a visa.

you can use "Cheers" instead. It's marvelously universal!  :)
...
It would be cool if every one of you guys who have heard such things in use could tell about it, would like to hear it myself.

My well known fav is "ain't". The most universal slang phrase. It can stand for "am/are/is not", "has/have not", "do/does/did not". But my English teacher never let me use it and I ain't  :Đ

Yes, that was the word, thanks.
Five hundred post generators on the forum out of twenty thousand registrations. Quite low yet reasonable. How many of them speaks English and how many of them have ever visited this topic? Do you access such statistics or may ask for them?

Couldn't agree spidey more. The borders have been relatively open for decades in terms of possibilities, today's change is a formal one. Everyone who wanted to go west, went west. Everyone who wanted to provide better service (in any field like tourism) via speaking languages, learned languages.
I was thinking if it was wise to mention a said-to-be-typical Hungarian phrase. I came to the answer 'no' but I still quote it: "Tanuljon meg az magyarul, ha akar valamit."

We may observe that the cleaning lady speaks in English yet if we go out into Austria. Yet the garbage cleaner on the street. And not only in Austria, but in Italy, in Greece basis expectation, that let the peoples' majority speak in English. The difference so much, that to the west in a country the people more than his half speaks in English, at us more than his half is top notch in Hungarian simply. This is distressing. The reason of this in the Hungarian thinking and in our history to be been looking for.

I envy them often when I watch how the single members of the black tribes living in Africa give an interview in English on one of the educational channels. They do not speak perfect because it is possible to hear about them not speaking totally regularly grammatical, their dialect is very very strong and primitive, despite this understandable what is said. Interesting so, that the cannibals speak in the African hidden little villages in English yet.

We have more than fifty registered users. Unfortunately, I am not able to reach such information. But you can easily check, how many people have ever written a post here. :)

I don't know where you've been in Greece, but it was very-very hard to communicate in English with for example the taxi driver, the informatician at the railway station and at the shops... and it was a tourist centre.

English communication with taxi drivers is very hard even in New York. ;) :D

Oh man, it's fun to read your posts here. As soon as one gets over the abusing period, that is. No offense, I just say you should really start looking for that piece of paper where you wrote the address of your last English teacher.
Some of my recent favourites highlighted below:

Carmaged! Are these sentences above really so awful grammatical?

To be stayed on the topic:

I had been on the northern part of Greece, where the shopkeepers spoke well in English. This was true for the population's single part. A bus driver spoke excellent in German for example.

I observed this in Italy: all shopkeepers were top notch on Hungary drawn in English, which is a big thing because of that, quasi how many shopkeepers are top notch in English? It is little according to me. It may be possible that the foreign country shopkeepers had to learn it because of the tourism in English, but they were willing then onto him. The Hungarian shopkeepers' big part would not learn in English if the tourism would be booming. It would be a big benefit already though if they would be able to begin to sound on conversational level.

gazdi's right, you have problems with concentrating on extremely prepositions, complex, adverbful (someone, is it right? :D) sentences and possessive cases. There is a sentence I can't understand:

...The difference so much, that to the west in a country the people more than his half speaks in English...
