Sajnos még nem (bár nem vettem komolyan hogy 4 napa altt itt lesz, amikor az amazon.com is 3 hetes turn-around time-okkal dolgozik. Persze azis lehet, hogy már itt van és épp a fináncoknál dekkol, csak még nem tok' róla) , pedig naggyon kiváncsi vagyok én is a 625p DunaTV-re :

DVD Forum approves the HD DVD-RW format

During the DVD forum’s 25th steering committee meeting the RW version 0.9 of the HD-DVD format (also known as AOD) was approved. The ROM version of HD-DVD was already approved last year and now MPEG2, WM9 and H.264 have also got provisional approval as video codecs to be used for the format. Several other things also got approval by DVD Forum during the meeting, for example:

* Approval of DD+, DTS++, and MLP as mandatory audio codecs to be included in the High Definition Video format

* Adoption of the mandatory audio codec "MPEG-4 HE AAC" for the Optional Specifications for DVD-Audio (ROM zone)

* Approval of Optional Specifications 5X-speed DVD-RAM, Rev. 2.0

* Approval of HD DVD Specifications for Rewritable Disc version 0.9

* Approval of Maximum Verification Fees: (2) Test Specifications for discs with new High Speed Recording Optional Specifications (R8X, RAM5X, RW4X): $ 15,000

* Provisional approval of MPEG2, WM9 (VC-9) and MPEG4 AVC(H.264) Video CODECs as mandatory for the HD DVD Video specification for playback devices, subject to (a) an update in 60 days regarding licensing terms and conditions, (B) a presentation by each of the respective licensing bodies at the next SC meeting and © possible elimination of any of the above CODECs at the next SC meeting.

* The Steering Committee asks the TCG and WG-1 to reconsider their recommendation of audio codecs for HD Video Applications, and make a new recommendation by the next Steering Committee meeting that includes at least one lossless audio codec and at least one lossy audio codec.

Mukodik a hdtv skystar1-el!!!
Nekem a mytheater 3.11 verziojaval sikerult neznem az euro1080-at ugy,hogy a tv kimenetet ntsc-re allitottam.Szerintem akkor nem mukodik a beepitett kodoloja.
Fel is vettem vele.
A 2.17 drivert hasznaltam, 1.7.0.4. a vezerlopult muholdvevo driver verzioja.A cyberlink filterrel geforce4 videokartyaval hardveres es szoftveres modban is tokeletes.Elecard filterrel szemetel egy kicsit,es lassu.

Egy Microsoft-os srac irt a legutobbi DVD Forum meeting-rol az AVS Forum-on. Szerintem eleg erdekes olvasmany, ezert bemasolom ide.


As an insider to the DVD Forum process, I find it fascinating to read this thread. I am amazed at the level of accuracy at times with the comments made. Quite refreshing to see this in an internet forum. Just a few comments in no particular order to back what has been said by others:

1. Quality is everything. Consumers already have a very good format. If the new format is not a clear step up, it won't fly and the studios know it, perhaps more than the equip. manufacturers. This is why lossless audio was requested at the last meeting. If the studios didn't care about quality, why ask for this?

2. Studios do of course, care about costs. With billions of discs produced, 2 to 3 cents per disc adds up (approx. cost of MPEG-2 royalties). All else being equal, of course, they opt for something cheaper.

3. Our Mac player is produced to support our general streaming business which is made up of SD and lower resolution images. We do fair amount of optimization for PowerPC but not nearly as much as what we do for Intel. This is not because we don't want to. In one case, we get help from top notch Intel engineers, and have deep knowledge of the a/v pipleline of the OS. In case of the Mac, Apple won't even say hello to us let alone help. Not that I blame them but the end of the day, we just can't produce as a good a player as we can on Windows if the principal vendor doesn�t want to it to begin with. As others have stated though, this is not the fault of the codec, but the practical situation. In addition, WMV requires about 60% more CPU than MPEG-2 so comparing the two doesn�t make much sense.

4. Since WMV is an open SMPTE spec, anyone can take that spec and build great decoders. Hopefully Motorola, Apple or someone with better knowledge of the Mac/PowerPC and resources would do this. This is after all, one of the reasons we opened up the spec -- to get benefits of many people enhancing the technology.

5. When we started the process of working with DVD Forum a year and half ago, we indeed, had no friends to speak of. Our technology was unknown to them and people had similar fears to what is stated here. While we were confident of the merits of our technology, and knew that the spirit of what we wanted to do was positive for both us, and the forum companies, it took us a while to provide the proof points necessary to convince everyone. First step was winning the two rounds of technical testing. And the second, was both opening up the spec, and publishing our licensing terms/pricing -- showing chip after chip vendor supporting our technology, even those 100% in the H.264 camp. There comes a time where you just have to put aside your fears and trust the facts or the business gets away from you!

6. As others have noted, there is competition with the blu-ray group (BD). DVD-Forum in this go around, had less friends than it had enjoyed in the past. Not sure how much they valued our participation but they voted us to become a steering committee member (highest level voting status) so this says something.

7. On the issue of H.264 vs. WMV, in this context, one has look at HD performance. We made a few key design decisions that have been fundamental to achieving better quality than H.264 at high resolution. For example, WMV uses variable size transforms (8x8, 4x8, 8x4, etc). The variable sized transforms preserve textures/fine details far better than fixed sized transforms used in H.264/MPEG-2 (the spreading effect is also less). In DVD forum testing, WMV was the only codec to match the D5 original in one clip whereas H.264 actually registered lower scores than other MPEG technologies on some clips! In addition, we avoid techniques such as arithmetic coding which uses a ton of CPU with very little benefit in picture quality. The result is that WMV is far simpler to implement than H.264. If you are chip designer pulling your hair out to implement H.264, doing WMV seems like a fun project in comparison. This is the reason no one is complaining about adding WMV to their decoders (e.g. Sand video).

8. DVD forum does not deal with copy protection. So there is no opportunity for us to �jam� our DRM into this spec even if we wanted to. The HD-DVD copy protection system will not be a DRM system anyway as most companies do not have sufficient IP in this area to build it (we and a few companies out there are the only ones who have invested heavily in this area). The solution will likely be a simple system with the same level of transparency in operation as there is with today�s DVD format, albeit, with better robustness.

Japán-koreai távközlési mûholdat lõttek fel

Helyi idõ szerint szombat délben távközlési mûholdat lõttek fel a floridai Cape Canaveralban, amely digitális audio és video szolgáltatásokat juttat el a japán és dél-koreai hordozható eszközökre, jelentette be a mûhold tulajdonosa, a Mobile Broadcasting Co. (MBCO).


Az MBSat mûholdat egy Atlas III hordozórakéta juttatta fel, amelyrõl a mûhold 29 perccel késõbb sikeresen levált, és pályára állt. Az MBCO a mûhold 70 csatornáját a japán elõfizetõknek kínálja, míg 40 csatornát a TU Media dél-koreai elõfizetõi fognak használni. A szolgáltatás az MPEG-4 formátumot fogja használni kb. 2,6 GHz-es frekvencián, közel a 2,1 GHz-hez, melyet a 3G telefonszolgáltatás használ, és amely sokkal alacsonyabb a hagyományos mûholdas mûsortovábbító szolgáltatások hullámhosszánál. Ezért nincs is szükség az igénybevételéhez rögzített parabola antennára - ami igencsak nem lenne praktikus a mobil felhasználásban. A tiszta jelvétel érdekében az MBCO erõsítõ hálózatot épít ki azokon a területeken, melyeket a mûhold nem tud lefedni, pl. alagutakban és a nagyvárosi toronyházak árnyékában.
Az MBCO a tesztelés után áprilisban indítja be a kísérleti szolgáltatást Japánban, a koreai szolgáltatás beindítása pedig a helyi szabályozástól függ.

Na én most kicsit visszatérek a föld nevû bolygóra, azon is hazánkba. Egy barátom diplomaterve keretén belül most már tudunk usb2-n keresztül transport stream-et lementeni, ja és a hazai dvb-t adásról van szó persze, ez a stream mindent tartalmaz, tehát egy az egybe van kimentve.
Namost csak a dvbviewer-rel tudtam megjeleníteni a lementett adást, igaz nem mondanám hogy flottúl ment mert az m1, m2 duna és a tesztábrát is le akarta játszani 4 ablakba egyszerre.
Eddig még semmilyen a transport stream-et megevõ progival nem sikerült szétszedni az adatfolyamot. Próbáltam a pva-t, a progdvb, meg egy rakás másikat de semmi. Ha valakinek van ötlete szóljon.

Kilyan megjött A VisonPlus DTV ter kártyám kenguruéktól végre. A 4 napból 40 nap lett. Kicsi üröm, hogy a PCTV kártyát el kell távolítanom a behelyezéséhez.

Igggen iggen. 2005-ben debutál a hosszútulok és vele a minden digital content-re kiterjedõ DRM. Tudni kell, hogy a DVI-D monitorcsatlakozó is DRM enabled ....
